Auckland Aces vs Canterbury: Following the cancellation of the Super Smash Grand Final, the Auckland Aces will play Canterbury in Auckland for the second time in two weeks. When the rain came, Canterbury had a launchpad and was on track to score a big point. Auckland emerged with the championship after all play was stopped, having advanced through the group rounds as the top qualifier.

Although the format of this upcoming match is different, Auckland will still be seeking to prove a point against Canterbury. It was not the perfect manner to be proclaimed champions, and they would have felt a little empty after that.

After putting the visitors in to bat, the Aces eliminated almost half of their side in 19 overs, but they were unable to maintain pressure, which allowed the lower middle order to provide the foundation for a huge total to be reached.

They were chasing 320 to win, but their chase faltered and they were down to 126-6 in 29 overs, a loss they were never able to overcome. In just 50 overs, ND defeated them by 104 runs, earning a bonus point victory and securing the top spot.

The Auckland Aces must immediately get back together and devise stronger strategies in order to take on Canterbury, who just defeated Otago.

Especially the pacer William O’Rourke, who exhaled fire and removed six of the first six Volts wickets to fall. Furthermore, the Volts never made it out of the big hole they dug for themselves. In a game that was impacted by rain, they were skittled out for 135 overs, and the Canterbury batters lost no time in destroying the opposition and crossing the finish line with about 25 overs remaining. The Kings will be looking to carry on with the same upbeat style of cricket that helped them get to the Super Smash Grand Final. However, they will enter this game against the Aces with a little bit extra motivation. They wouldn’t be really pleased with the outcome in the end.

When rain intervened in the Super Smash Grand Final between the Nicholls and Latham, they were in the box seat after a scorching start against the Aces. And that was the way the game had to conclude.

Even though it will hurt for a long time to lose another chance to win the championship, the Kings will still attack the Aces with the same ferocity.
